The findings of Neolithic period have been found in large number of localities (cave Megara in southern part of Stapari village, Potpecka Pecina in the village of Potpec). At the end of XII century U\u017eice and its suburbs joined Nemanja&#8217;s Medieval Feudal State, which is proved by the charter from Studenica Monastery issued in the year of 1196. year<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;1_2,1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; max_width=&#8221;1800px&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;||0px||false|false&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;a9989c34-2005-43a1-b681-943231a6e2fb&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first significant mentioning of U\u017eice was found in the document from Dubrovnik Archive, dated 9th October 1329.  year. Polovinom XIV veka \u0161irim podru\u010djem U\u017eica upravljao je Vojislav Vojinovi\u0107, a po njegovoj smrti, vlast je preuzeo Nikola Altomanovi\u0107. \u0160ire\u0107i svoju vlast i teritoriju ugro\u017eavao je Dubrovnik, bosanskog bana Tvrtka i kneza Lazara. Udru\u017eenim snagama knez Lazar i bosanski ban Tvrtko su uhvatili Nikolu Altomanovi\u0107a 1373. godine i oslepeli ga. U\u017ei\u010dki kraj od tada je u sastavu dr\u017eave kneza Lazara. Posle pada srpske despotovine osvojili su ga Turci. Serbian uprisings liberated the city of U\u017eice in 1805, and soon after that in 1807 the fort was liberated. U\u017eice has become very important uprising center. After the defeat of The First Serbian Uprising in 1813, it fell into Turkish hands again. By approval of Urban Plan in 1871, its intensive development started. The city got electrification on 2nd of August 1900, and in May of 1901 the Wavering Workshop started with its experimental work. Developing industry and merchandise, made positive conditions for the foundation of the first banks: Citizen bank (1884), Commercial Bank (1908) and Cooperative Credit Bank of U\u017eice (1911). Telegraph was installed in 1860, and the first telephone in 1904.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row use_custom_gutter=&#8221;on&#8221; gutter_width=&#8221;2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; max_width=&#8221;1800px&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.22.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;a9989c34-2005-43a1-b681-943231a6e2fb&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>Patriotic, cultural and sport associations were founded by the end of XIX and the beginning of XX century: Home Reserve, Cavalry Association &#8220;Knez Mihailo&#8221;, Archery Club &#8220;Napredak&#8221;, Choral Group &#8220;Zlatiborska Vila&#8221;, Gym Club &#8220;Du\u0161an Silni&#8221; and many others.<\/p>\n<p>After the end of Balkan wars and the First World War, the industry and production were soon restored in U\u017eice. The Industry for Hide Processing in Vrela was founded, railcars workshop, and finally, in the year 1928 the arms factory by Jakov Po\u0161inger from Slovenia was moved to U\u017eice (today it is &#8220;Prvi Partizan&#8221;-Ammunition Factory) The old banks were renewed, and some of the new were founded: Bank of Commerce, Market Bank of U\u017eice and U\u017eice Regional Bank. The railways and roads network developed: railways U\u017eice &#8211; Vardi\u0161te, road U\u017eice &#8211; Kraljeve Vode on Zlatibor, road U\u017eice &#8211; Kadinjaca &#8211; Bajna Ba\u0161ta. During the period of the Second World War 1941-1945, U\u017eice was the center of significant historical moments (Republic of U\u017eice). After the Second World War, U\u017eice slowly developed and has become a great commercial and cultural center of Western Serbia.
